This Privacy Policy explains what information Gemplore collects when you use our marketplace, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or browsing Gemplore, you agree to the practices described here.

Account information: your name, email address, and password when you register, plus a WhatsApp number if you're a seller.

Verification documents: for sellers, a government-issued Passport or National ID, and for dealers, a business registration certificate, submitted during verification.

Listing data: gemological details, photos, certificates, and pricing you submit when creating a listing.

Usage data: pages viewed, listings saved, inquiries sent, and search queries, used to operate and improve the platform.

Payment information: if you purchase a promotion package, payment is processed by PayPal. Gemplore does not store your card details.

To operate your account, display your listings or storefront, and route inquiries between buyers and sellers.

To verify seller identity and business registration as part of our verification process.

To power semantic search over listings, using OpenAI to generate search embeddings from listing text - no personal account information is sent for this purpose.

To send transactional email (account, listing, and inquiry notifications) via our email provider, Resend.

To detect and prevent fraud, misrepresentation, and violations of our Seller Guidelines.

A seller's WhatsApp number is never included in any public listing, storefront, or API response. When a buyer sends an inquiry, Gemplore constructs a private messaging link server-side using the WhatsApp Cloud API, so buyer and seller can connect without either party's contact details being exposed on the platform.

Documents submitted for verification are stored securely and are only ever visible to our verification team. They are never displayed publicly, shared with buyers or other sellers, or used for any purpose beyond confirming your identity and, for dealers, your business registration.

Gemplore uses httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in - a short-lived access token and a longer-lived refresh token. These cookies are required for the platform to function and are not used for third-party advertising or tracking.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Deactivating your account preserves your data in our systems (for example, to maintain transaction and review history); if you would like your data fully deleted, contact us and we will process your request in line with applicable law.

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under local data protection law.

Gemplore is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under the age of 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
