For Buyers
Buyer Protection
Policy
What Gemplore verifies before you ever see a listing, and how to protect yourself once you're in a conversation with a seller.
What We Verify
Built-In Safeguards
- Every seller completes identity verification before their first listing
- Every listing is reviewed by our platform team before publication
- Treatment disclosure is required on every listing
- Certificate numbers are recorded and displayed alongside each listing
Be Aware
What's Outside Gemplore
Gemplore does not process payments or hold funds in escrow. Once you and a seller connect, negotiation, payment, and shipping happen directly between you - the way the gem trade already works. This means the same care you'd use in any private transaction still applies.
How to Transact Safely
Best Practices
- Cross-check the certificate number directly on the issuing lab's website - the single most important check you can make yourself
- Ask for additional photos or a video call before sending payment
- Use a traceable payment method, and avoid full upfront payment for unusually large orders from new sellers
- For first-time purchases, consider stones with in-person or third-party verification options
- Report anything that feels off before you send money
Reporting a Problem
If Something Feels Wrong
If a listing or seller seems dishonest, contact us immediately via our Contact page. We investigate every report and take action on confirmed violations, up to permanent account suspension.
